Japanese rock band performs Kamikazee’s ‘Narda’

MANILA, Philippines – A Japanese rock group has performed its own rendition of local band Kamikazee’s “Narda,” a song that is said to be about the Filipino heroine Darna. Uchusentai NOIZ did a faster, more upbeat version of “Narda” in a music video uploaded on YouTube on Tuesday. The video also mentioned that the band will perform in Davao from September 7 to 9, and at Function Room 4 and 5 of SMX Convention Center at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City from September 15 to 16.

Charice to sing at 9/11 tribute game to be held in Florida, USA

Charice is expected to perform during a football game that will mark the 10th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in the United States. In her official Twitter account, Charice confirmed that she will be part of the 9/11 tribute game that will be held in Jacksonville, Florida. According to charicemania.com, the fansite maintained by Charice's fans, the Filipina singer will sing the "Star Spangled Banner" and "God Bless America" for a match between the Tennessee Titans and Jacksonville Jaguars.

Polyeast Records releases Hale's former frontman Champ Lui Pio's solo album "Synergy"

Six years later, with songs like The Day You Said Goodnight, Kung Wala Ka, Broken Sonnet and some others - Champ is prepared to kick off his solo career and to return to what he does best. He is now set to release a long-awaited comeback as a solo artist with a new album slated November 2010 under Polyeast Records.

Champ's album was recorded during a three-month break from the rock scene and was heavily inspired by his love of bands such as Coldplay. For any artist like Champ, the album's concept was collaboration with musicians with whom he allows himself to not only branch out, but to establish relationships and connections with other artists. "After six years, as an artist, I have to let myself explore my boundaries" he shared. The 10 cuts solo album will be titled "Synergy" where the new album consists various elements from soul (Julianne Tarroja), to punk (Chris Padilla of Hilera), to folk (Noel Cabangon), to rock (Chito Miranda of Parokya ni Edgar), and rap (Gloc-9) with Monty Macalino of Mayonnaise, Ferdie Marquez and Angee Rozul as co-producers. As Champ experiences a giant leap forward and an album that his romantic disposition and his melodic gift.

As a founding member of Hale, Champ's words and music had an unparalleled impact on the sounds and beliefs of this generation's OPM rock.
