Japanese rock band performs Kamikazee’s ‘Narda’

MANILA, Philippines – A Japanese rock group has performed its own rendition of local band Kamikazee’s “Narda,” a song that is said to be about the Filipino heroine Darna. Uchusentai NOIZ did a faster, more upbeat version of “Narda” in a music video uploaded on YouTube on Tuesday. The video also mentioned that the band will perform in Davao from September 7 to 9, and at Function Room 4 and 5 of SMX Convention Center at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City from September 15 to 16.

Charice to sing at 9/11 tribute game to be held in Florida, USA

Charice is expected to perform during a football game that will mark the 10th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in the United States. In her official Twitter account, Charice confirmed that she will be part of the 9/11 tribute game that will be held in Jacksonville, Florida. According to charicemania.com, the fansite maintained by Charice's fans, the Filipina singer will sing the "Star Spangled Banner" and "God Bless America" for a match between the Tennessee Titans and Jacksonville Jaguars.

MANILA, Philippines – A Japanese rock group has performed its own rendition of local band Kamikazee’s “Narda,” a song that is said to be about the Filipino heroine Darna.

Uchusentai NOIZ did a faster, more upbeat version of “Narda” in a music video uploaded on YouTube on Tuesday.

The video also mentioned that the band will perform in Davao from September 7 to 9, and at Function Room 4 and 5 of SMX Convention Center at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City from September 15 to 16.

Some Filipinos took to Twitter to express their appreciation for the band’s recognition of local music.

“Kamikazee & Noiz. Well it’s just amazing,” said Twitter user Ril Santos.

“Ang awesome lang nung Uchusentai NOIZ na version ng Narda… Rakenrol times ten!” added user Patchables.

Kamikazee frontman Jay Contreras has also reacted to the viral music video, retweeting a post from one of his friends.

History:
Stomp, a unique combination of percussion, movement and visual comedy, was created in Brighton, UK, in the summer of 1991. It was the result of a ten-year collaboration between its creators, Luke Cresswell and Steve McNicholas.

They first worked together in 1981, as members of the street band Pookiesnackenburger and the theatre group Cliff Hanger. Together, these groups presented a series of street comedy musicals at the Edinburgh Festival throughout the early 80s. After two albums, a UK TV series and extensive touring throughout Europe, Pookiesnackenburger also produced the highly acclaimed ‘Bins’ commercial for Heineken lager.

The piece was originally written and choreographed by Luke as part of the band’s stage show; it proved to be the starting point for Stomp’s climactic dustbin dance.

What is MYX?

MYX Philippines is known for featuring the music videos' lyrics on-screen, allowing the viewers to sing along. This was inherited from the defunct karaoke channel VID-OK. VID-OK initially aired generic karaoke clips, but later played music videos with lyrics.

MYX North America is programmed and operated independently from its Philippines counterpart, catering to the Asian-American youth community. After the competing channel, AZN, ceases operation due to financial reasons in April 2008, MYX became the only nationwide channel with a primary focus on Asian Americans in the U.S.
