Brenan on Chris Brown

Brenan was quick to acknowledge the acrimony that exists around Chris Brown. Ever since his early 2009 bust-up with then girlfriend Rihanna, Chris Brown has been anything but the media’s darling. Nonetheless Brenan stated “Despite what he’s been through the last years with all his issues, he is still one amazingly talented singer/performer. It never fails to amaze me how dedicated he is to his craft and it really shows whenever he performs.”

As evidence to this Brenan cited specifically Brown’s video “Yeah 3x”, which he has been watching a lot of late. The thing that drew him to it the most was “hands down the dancing”, a part of Brown’s skill set, which comes to the fore in the “Yeah 3x” music video. Brenan even admitted to trying to emulate the dance moves of Chris Brown in the video. Unfortunately though he openly admitted that he’s “not the best at imitating dance moves by simply watching them”. Nonetheless dancing is something Brenan wants to get back into in the next few months, particularly in his shows, webisodes and music videos.

“I really want to get back into dancing, particularly dancing routines.”

Most interestingly of course was when this humble interviewer quizzed Brenan on how he felt he compared to Chris Brown in terms of talent. “Well Chris Brown is Chris Brown. I just want to be the best version of me and not copy anyone. Talent-wise, I still have a lot more to learn and improve. Even the great artists never stop striving to improve in whichever way they can and that makes them great.”

Suffice to say, with that sort of attitude Brenan’s definitely on the right track to achieving the same sort of status.
