Wolfgang - "When I Was Young" Lyrics

Posted by kornhead On Tuesday, September 27, 2011
One day, my daddy told me,
You're nothing special, you're not worth it,
But my heart didn't understand that shit, and
I promised you, brother, I'd do it, hey and
Succeed at it

When I was young,
I could not see the signs,
But one, I'm a monster, (and a superstar)
And something like my father's son
(Like my father's son)

There's supposed to be beauty deep inside,
But deep inside is where I hide,
And I can assure you, mama
It ain't so beautiful, so deep inside

When I was a kid, since I was a kid
No matter what I did, no matter what I did
I could not fit in, I could not fit in, hey
So I prayed, please save my life,
But my prayer comes from within

Sometimes, I wonder if he really died for me,
Bolts of lightning, did he really split the sea,
Could he move a mountain for me?
Can he open the gates, and set one of us free?

All I ever wanted were fucked up friends,
So we could sit in our shits and sins, baby
All we ever wanted was to make it big,
Ginger haired and gin, I think I'll take a swig

(Ha, ha, ha, ha)
I heard you been through some things,
And you could really use a friend,
You're going down a road, and I've already been
Our time is running thin, sister!
There ain't no reason (ain't no beginning)
Ain't no child, ain't no winning

(This is just like a dream,
And I have a feeling,
You and everything may not be
What you come off to seem,
I'm stuck between a dream and reality,
Fatality, fatality

When I was a kid, since I was a kid
No matter what I did, no matter what I did
I could not fit in, I could not fit in, hey-hey-hey
So I prayed, please save my life,
But my prayer comes from within,
(Comes from within)

Sometimes, I wonder if he really died for me,
Bolts of lightning, did he really split the sea,
Could he move a mountain for me?
Can he open the gates? Can he open the gates?

(Hey, hey)

Sometimes, I wonder if he really died for me,
Bolts of lightning, did he really split the sea,
Could he move a mountain for me?
If I fell, Would you come back save me?

(Can he find it in his heart, find it in his heart,
To love me, to love me-oooo
Love me, love me,
Cause I'm wonderin, cause I'm wonderin)
